Sally Hansen Summer 2014 Limited Edition Color Frenzy Collection Swatches & Review

I have a glitter filled post for you today!  Sally Hansen has released their new 8 piece Color Frenzy Collection and I have all 8 to show you.  This line is described as a glittering splatter-paint effect polish featuring multidimensional shapes and colors.

Most of these look amazing over an unlimited selection of nail polish colors – so it took me forever to settle on which colors I wanted to use.   Too many ideas, too few glitters!

Now lets look at all 8 Sally Hansen Color Frenzy glitters!

Candy Drops

Candy Drops

Candy Drops is the girly girl glitter of the set.  Candy Drops contains small light pink matte hex glitters and micro bar glitter as well as silver holographic micro glitter in a clear base.  I used 1 coat over SinfulColors Prime Purple.

Splattered

Splattered

Sally Hansen Splattered has a lot going on.  This is a mix of black and pink matte hex glitter, gold shard glitters, and red micro bar glitters.  It’s a very busy glitter topper.  I used 1 coat of Splattered over SinfulColors Solar Flux.

Red White & Hue

Red White and Hue

Red White & Hue is your patriotic glitter top coat.  This is a mix of red, white and blue hex glitters in a clear base.  I used 1 coat of Red White & Hue over OPI No Room For The Blues.

Fruit Spritz

Fruit Spritz

Fruit Spritz was the shade I was most excited about, but unfortunately disappointed me.  Fruit Spritz contains matte pastel green, orange, yellow and pink hex glitters as well as silver holographic hex glitters in a thick clear base.  I needed to use the dab method to apply a decent amount of glitter and the base was a touch too thick and I got a large amount of bubbling with the manicure.  I used 2 dabbed coats of Fruit Spritz over OPI Chillin’ Like A Villain.

If you purchase this shade, adding a little thinner to the bottle might help reduce the thick base and eliminate some bubbles.

Sea Salt

Sea Salt

Sea Salt is a mix of small blue and light green matte hex glitters, silver holo shred glitter, and fine gold shimmer.  I used 1 coat of Sea Salt over OPI Can’t Find My Czechbook.

Spark & Pepper

Sparks and Pepper

Spark & Pepper is a mix of black and white micro glitter, black bar glitter, and silver holo shred glitter.  I used 1 coat over Ruby Wing Rodeo for these photos.

Paint Party

Paint Party

Paint Party is a fun mix of matte pastel yellow, aqua blue and orange hex and micro bar glitters in a clear base.  I used 1 coat of Paint Party over OPI Panda-monium Pink for these photos.

The base was a little on the thick side for this shade too, but not quite as thick as Fruit Spritz.  There was some very minor bubbling, but I didn’t have to dab the glitters on for Paint Party.

Green Machine

Green Machine

Green Machine is similar to Candy Drops.  This is a mix of matte spring green hex and micro bar glitters along with silver holographic micro glitter in a clear base.  I used 1 coat of Green Machine over OPI Feel The Mo-heat-oes.

Overview

This is a great collection of glitters and it isn’t one type of mix in various color schemes so it should appeal to a wider range of glitter lovers.  I only had a real issue with one for bubbling issues and a thick clear base, which made applying the glitters take a little longer.  The rest spread on quite easily.  My favorite ones are Green Machine and Candy Drops.

Price: $5.99 Each

Where To Buy: Sally Hansen® Color Frenzy™ is available beginning June 2014 at chain drug stores, food stores, and mass merchandisers nationwide

Are you a fan of glitter?  Do any of these Limited Edition shades grab you?  I’d love to hear it!

Green Machine and Candy Drops are my favorites. Hee hee I even have green machine on my toes over a lime green and it is soo gorgeous with sparkle and glitters. I have Candy drops on 4 of my fingernails over a solid pink and it is spectacular. The pics just don’t show how sparkly and pretty this one is. I really like them all and may go back and gt the rest before they are gone.

I haven’t seen these at my local stores yet but have been on the hunt. I need them all.

Per usual, your combos are great! I loved Fruit Spritz the best.. until I read how it has a bad formula. Bummer! One of Milani’s newer ones.. Sugar Rush? maybe? is similar in colors, I think, and it’s a good formula. Sea Salt is also very pretty! Go Sally Hansen for putting out trend collections!
