RITUALS Time Out Gift Set Review

by Lisa Heath

Press Sample

RITUALS is a fairly new brand to me.  I’ve heard about it on a few different blogs and have browsed their site a couple times.  A lot of their scents sounds really nice, light and refreshing.  I was given the opportunity to review their Time Out gift set, which is a Cherry Blossom & Rice Milk scented product.  I’m really big into cherry blossom scents at the moment, so this immediately jumped out at me

RITUALS Time Out gift set helps restore your inner peace as you pamper your body with these relaxing products based on the wonderful fragrance of Cherry Blossom and Rice Milk.

This is a 4 piece set (actually 3, the 4th item is a free gift)

Full box

It comes in a simple, but nice box that lets you clearly see the products inside.

Magic Touch Ultra Rich Whipped Body Cream

Body Cream

RITUALS Magic Touch Ultra Rich Whipped Body Cream is a super smooth and creamy body cream.  Hands down my favorite product in the box and one I will repurchase.  It doesn’t have an overpowering scent, and I actually need to bring my hands almost all the way to my face to smell it.  It mingles nicely with my other cherry blossom scented products as well.

You can purchase RITUALS Magic Touch Ultra Rich Whipped Body Cream in 2 different sizes.

200ml Jar – $29.00 | 70ml Tube – $8.00

Shown is the 70ml Tube

Zensation Foaming Shower Gel Sensation

Foam

Zensation Foaming Shower Gel Sensation is probably the product I was most excited to try out.  It comes in a pressurized can which looks similar to a shave gel can. For some reason I expected a foam to dispense, but it was a gel that became foamy when it came into contact with water.

I liked this product, but I’m not sure I would repurchase it. I prefer more traditional shower gels in comparison, but this did leave my skin soft and nicely scented.

You can purchase RITUALS Zensation Foaming Shower Gel Sensation in 2 different sizes.

200ml Canister – $15.00 | 50ml Canister – $6.00

Shown is the 50ml Canister

Rice Scrub Calming Body Scrub

Body Scrub

Rice Scrub Calming Body Scrub was actually the “Free Gift” in the set, but one I will also repurchase. This is an incredibly gentle body scrub, which I like.  It doesn’t irritate my skin and feels incredibly silky when it comes into contact with water, so this is a great option if you have sensitive skin.

You can purchase RITUALS Rice Scrub Calming Body Scrub in a 150 ml Tube for $17.00

Carpe Diem Nourishing Shampoo For Frizzy Hair

Shampoo

Carpe Diem Nourishing Shampoo For Frizzy Hair worked fairly well for my hair type, but it won’t be replacing my normal shampoo.  If I was going on a trip though, it’s a good travel size to bring along. It smelled amazing, but performance wise it just didn’t WOW me.

You can purchase RITUALS Carpe Diem Nourishing Shampoo For Frizzy Hair in a 250 ml Tube for $19.00.

Overview

Products

Overall, this was an ok set. I loved 2 of the products (Magic Touch Body Cream & Body Scrub) within it and will purchase them on their own.  I am glad I got to try out the other 2 (Zensation Foaming Gel & Carpe Diem Shampoo) so I don’t purchase the full size.

Scent wise, I adored this gift set.  While 2 products didn’t work out for me, the scent still makes me want to use them and I will.  I liked them, I just didn’t love them.

Gift Set Price: $25.00

For my first time using RITUALS I’m still interested in trying more.  Their pricing is actually incredibly reasonable.  There are several Gift Sets I may look into to try out more scents!

What do you think of RITUALS?  Have you tried their brand before?  If you have, I’d love to hear your favorite scent so I know what I should look into when I order!

The scent sounds nice but glad to hear the cream wasn’t an overpowering scent, floral scents sometimes give me a headache but I love them! Great review!

These sound very nice. I don’t think I’ve ever used a foaming shower gel before. That would be fun!

Cute set. Glad the scent was OK. So often these sets are off when it comes to scent.

I’ve got two Rituals products and like them both. The body scrub is my favorite though. They have a lovely looking line.

I’ve been interested in trying a rice exfoliator – they seem all the rage right now. The ‘foaming’ gel sounds pretty neat, and I love a nicely scented hand cream. Shampoos take a lot to wow me, too – I’m much more interested in conditioners.

I always see this brand on sale at Gilt (if I’m not mistaken)

Cherry Blossoms are one of my favorite flowers, so I would jump on this just for the name. :) I think that body scrub sounds devine.

It’s so hard to find the perfect shampoo, especially for us frizzy gals! Few work!
