Red Dog Designs Love Stinks Collection Swatches & Review

Red Dog Designs has come out with a 3 piece collection for Valentine’s Day named Love Stinks!

Love Stinks is a nice change from the typical reds and pinks associated with Valentine’s Day, so I enjoyed swatching them and giving people yet another option for Valentine’s manis!

Love Hurts

Love Hurts is a rich berry jelly base with various sized hex, square, and circle glitters, in shades of pink holo, and garnet, sprinkled with micro holo glitter.  I only needed 2 coats of Love Hurts for these photos.  Amazing application – I was actually surprised that with all of the glitter within it that it applied so smoothly!  The holo glitters within don’t overpower the polish, but you get sparks of holo when the light hits just right!

Tainted Love

Tainted Love is my favorite of the trio!  Tainted Love contains various sized hex and square glitters, in shades of neon green, holo lime green, and iridescent green/lime/gold, including black heart and skull glitters, sprinkled with micro holo glitter, in a clear base.  There are 10 different types of glitter packed into this polish.  I had no issues getting the hearts and skulls out of Tainted Love (I’ve used it twice and both times I got a good amount).  I used 2 coats over Nicole By OPI I Shop Mintage.

Down With Love

Down With Love contains various sized hex, square, and diamond glitters, in shades of teal, holo, black, berry, and purple, including teal and purple heart glitters, sprinkled with micro holo glitter, in a clear base.  I used 2 coats over Nicole by OPI Oh That’s Just Grape!

Overview

All 3 polishes in the Love Stinks Collection were incredibly easy to work with.  I didn’t have to fish for glitters at all and they are so glitter packed that you get a nice variety of shapes and types with each stroke.  I really love the theme of the trio as well as the branching out from typical Valentine’s Day shades.
