Model City Polish Summer 2014 Collection Swatches & Review

Press Sample

I have done a few teaser pictures of the Model City Polish Summer 2014 collection, but now I have 5 of the shades to show you.

This is a collection of shimmery neon polishes with alcoholic drink inspired names!

Purple Dragon

Purple Dragon

I’m starting this with the prettiest, but most frustrating of the group. Not frustrating due to application… but photographing.  My photos are not color accurate on this shade and for that I apologize.  This is a stunning bright purple base with blue and purple shimmery glass flecks mixed in.  Do you see the line of bright purple around my nails on the edges and in the neck of the polish bottle?  THAT’S the correct color.  I took over 150 photos of this one and nothing came close to the real gorgeousness of this shade.

Refer to the creators photo in her shop of it HERE.  That’s accurate

I used 3 coats for these photos and a glossy top coat.  The first coat I did was patchy and honestly worried me.  But the second coat started evening out and on the third thin coat it looked perfect.

Green Monster

Green Monster

Green Monster is a bright green jelly base with green and gold flakies mixed in.  Amazing color.  I used 3 coats for these photos and in some lighting a little VNL was still showing.  So if you prefer not to see VNL, I would suggest a base color or a 4th coat.

Hot Pink Barbie

Hot Pink Barbie

Hot Pink Barbie is a bright pink base with a ton of pink and purple shimmer and flakies mixed in.  Absolutely stunning!  The maker does note to keep this out of direct light though to avoid the color from fading while in the bottle.  She did experience that with this particular polish.

Sparks

Sparks

Sparks is a bright reddish orange base with fiery orange flakes mixed in.  I used 3 thin coats for these photos.

Electric Lemonade

Electric Lemonade

Electric Lemonade is a incredibly bright blue with a hint of blurple and filled with pink and blue flecks.  Electric Lemonade dries to a satin finish and looks best with a glossy top coat. I used 2 coats for these photos

Overview

How was that for a collection of brights?!  My top picks are Purple Dragon (even though my photos aren’t accurate… grrr), Electric Lemonade and Hot Pink Barbie.  All 5 are stunning though!

Price: $8.50 Each

Wow!!! These polishes are beyond gorgeous! I would love to have them all. My favorite (for now) is Sparks. I am having a Moment with fiery oranges! And I love flakes! Thank you so much for the beautiful photos.
