Mentality Nail Polish The Pastel Mattes Swatches and Review

by Lisa Heath

***Added 7/23/15 – please read this announcement ***

If you have purchased from Mentality from April 2015 – June 2015 and you are experiencing sensitivity, itchiness or burning, please contact Mentality directly to have your polishes replaced. Their email is [email protected]

I personally did NOT experience any reactions when using these polishes, but many did. Please know I would have been fully transparent had I known the damage that was being caused. Again, please read the announcement above and by clicking on it, you will be taken to Mentality’s initial statement regarding the issue.

Here we go with another post to celebrate Mentality Week on the blog!  Today I have the Pastel Mattes to show you!

If you love matte shades like I do, Mentality is THE site to check out.  From pastels to deep dark shades, and almost everything in between – Mentality pretty much has you covered!  While the shades look amazing in their natural state (matte) they also dazzle with a glossy top coat if you aren’t a huge matte lover.

Ready for the Pastel Mattes?  I am missing 2 Pastel Mattes for this post.  So to see Amy and Virginia, make sure you visit the Mentality Website to see the creators stunning swatches of those 2! I will have them up on the blog soon to show you as well!

The first photo in each set is without top coat, and the second photo in each set is the same shade but with top coat!

Overview

As you can see, all of these look really light and dainty both with and without top coat.  For some I love them in their natural matte state, but others I adore with a top coat.  All of the Pastel Mattes are completely wearable both ways!  As with most matte polishes, dry time on these are pretty quick.  You don’t have to move super fast for application, but you don’t want to be a slow poke or they will start to dry and drag.  One thing I will say when applying these, when you first put them on, they almost apply like a creme or shimmer polish would – very smooth and fluid and then they dry down to a matte.  So even if you have problems applying mattes (and I know some that do!) these are definitely user friendly.
