***Added 7/23/15 – please read this announcement ***

If you have purchased from Mentality from April 2015 – June 2015 and you are experiencing sensitivity, itchiness or burning, please contact Mentality directly to have your polishes replaced. Their email is [email protected]

I personally did NOT experience any reactions when using these polishes, but many did. Please know I would have been fully transparent had I known the damage that was being caused. Again, please read the announcement above and by clicking on it, you will be taken to Mentality’s initial statement regarding the issue.

Mentality Nail Polish has been a staple brand for me as far as nail art is concerned.  When it comes to stamping, they made it super easy for a beginner like me.  With a HUGE selection of stamp friendly shades to choose from, in so many colors – I couldn’t be more thrilled.

For just a taste of their stamping polish selection, check out my posts on The Stampers Collection, Duo Chrome Stampers, Metallic Cremes Collection, and some Basic Stampers.

Now they have a Nail Art Glazing Set that allows you to stamp… and color them in for added effect.  While the Nail Art Glazing Set is made to add glaze color to your stamping, I’ve added a couple more photos of things I have done to show what else they are pretty good for!

The Mentality Nail Art Glazing Set contains 10 glazing shades that are semi sheer. Black and White are not included in this set and are actually part of the Opaque set for stamping.

First, swatches of the colors.  The color swatches were done over Mentality Sunny.

Full Set 2

From pinkie to thumb, we have Yellow, Coral, Orange, Red and Red-Purple above

Full set 1

Again from pinkie to thumb we have Purple, Blue, Aqua, Green and Grey.

The White and Black I am using to stamp are not intended to be used as a base color, they are a thick consistency to allow for a nice stamp over other shades, both light and dark.

Confetti Stamping

Here is White over Mentality Rascal.

Mentality Glazing start

Here is Black over Mentality Sunny.

Again, White and Black can be found in the Opaque Collection which is an 11 piece collection that is purely for stamping and not intended for use as an all over nail color.

Now for some Nail Art Glazing in action!

Glazed stamping

This was my first attempt and I way overdid it.  BUT it takes on a stained glass effect.  I should have left a white background though!

hearts

Here is a better attempt.  I used a dotting tool to fill in the hearts with Red-Purple, Coral, Aqua and Purple.  I stamped with Black and the base color is Sunny (you need to buy Sunny too BTW… gorgeous matte white with golden shimmer)

This was super easy to do!

Now some more things I did with the Nail Art Glazing Set

glaze marble

Water Marble!!  If you have difficulty with marbling, all of the glazing shades are thin and spread beautifully in water.  White and Black will not work in marbling since they are thicker stamping polish, but the other 10 colors… perfection!  I used Purple, Red and Aqua for this marble over a base of Mentality Sunny.

dots

dots up

For this I did a base of Sunny (going to need another bottle soon) and then I used Coral, Red-Purple and Blue in a diagonally across the nail, and then Black to stamp over.

If you are looking to get into stamping, or are already an expert and want to expand your stamping collection, this is a fabulous set to use.

Right now, Mentality is also offering an epic 24 piece Deluxe Stamping Nail Art Set which includes all 10 Nail Art Glazing colors, the entire 11 piece Opaque Collection, Scoundrel for the perfect black base polish, Gloss for the perfect stamping top coat and Fast Dry to seal it all in.  You can get this massive 24 piece collection for $120.00

Price: $50.00 for the 10 piece Nail Art Glazing Set or $6.00 for individual colors

Wow. I wish I had half of your talent. The marble + gorgeous! I love the blue and grey polishes and how shimmery they are! I really like how thoroughly you explain each look. For a nail biting dork like myself, I get intimidated at the thought of trying to get artsy with my nails, but YOU make it look easy! Thank you.
