Majestic Bombay Splinter Tweezer Review

by Lisa Heath

Disclaimer

Splinter Tweezers are a type of tweezer I actually have several pairs of.  They are also known for use in removing ingrown hairs (ouch)… but I also have a pair for nail art because they work really well in picking up small items such as gems and make placement easier.

Splinter Tweezer

The Majestic Bombay Splinter Tweezers are:

  • Stainless steel
  • Perfectly sharp aligned tips
  • Allows for surgical precise tweezing
  • Portable and practical

To try these out as a nail tool, I decided to do a neon mani and then individually place new gems I received on my ring finger.  I know this look isn’t for everyone, but I’ve been wanting to try it for awhile.

Gem Nails

I had no trouble placing each gem with the Majestic Bombay Splinter Tweezers.  I was able to easily grip, pickup and place each individual gem onto the nail and it took about 20 minutes total.

Gem Nails side

The tweezers were sturdy and the precision tips made this a cinch, and I will be picking up another pair to have a backup (I lose things a lot… I won’t deny it).

While I used these for nail art, their intended use is for the removal of splinters or ingrown hairs.  If you are looking for a pair of tweezers for that, they are simple to use:

For splinters, clean the affected area with soap and water, dip the tweezers in alcohol to sterilize, and use needle points of tweezer to grab the splinter and back it out gently. After particle is removed, disinfect area with hydrogen peroxide. If dirt is involved, consult doctor regarding tetanus. To remove ingrown hairs, wash area with soap and water, dip tweezer in alcohol to disinfect, and use tip of tweezer to isolate the ingrown hair. Tweeze hair out gently in the direction of hair growth.

Price: $7.50

Where To Buy: Amazon

What did you think?  Do you keep a pair of Splinter Tweezers on hand?

I don’t have a pair of splinter tweezers, although I do use tweezers for nail art too. Sounds like I need to look into these

Ooh, I like these tweezers! They would work well for glitter and stud placement for nail art.

Tweezers are nice for brows but they’re truly God’s gift to nail art. Love your mani!

I use this type of tweezer to get really stubby eyebrow hairs out when they are in that regrowth stage, but not long enough to grab with regular slant tweezers.
