Guest Post: Floral Nail Art from Set In Lacquer

by Lisa Heath

I am so happy to be a guest blogger for Lisa, here at Cosmetic Sanctuary. She has been a friend for a few years and we have shared many opinions over polish, blogging and life in general.

I knew I wanted to create nail art for this guest post and I adore florals so I hope you enjoy this nail art.

I started out with a base color of Nicka K New York NY 139, Red Apple. Nicka K polishes can be purchased at http://www.nicka.com for $4.99. I love this shade of red. It’s classic and makes a statement.

I used acrylic paints for the flowers and leaves. I love using acrylics for nail art for several reasons:

They are inexpensive.
If it dries out on your palette, you can simply add a drop of water to thin it.
Mixing paints on the palette gives you endless colors.
If you use a top coat before the paint, you can simply wash it off if you make a mistake.

Florals are forgiving to create. Rarely will you find a perfect flower in nature. Maybe this is one reason I use florals so often. But then again – maybe not. I don’t usually like floral prints, but I love floral nail art.

What’s your go-to nail art technique?

Very pretty, love the flowers. I don’t really have a go-to technique, but I really like stamping.
