Fair Maiden Polish Halloween 2015 Fright Night Collection Swatches & Review

Tomorrow Fair Maiden Polish will be releasing 4 new Halloween 2015 polishes as part of their Fright Night collection! All 4 are inspired by different TV shows – all of which I wholeheartedly approve of and have watched (some more than once while swatching.. yay for Netflix & Hulu!)

One thing I found fun with this collection was that Fair Maiden Polish decided to try out some new-to-them non traditional finishes. They felt that Halloween was the perfect time to try out some new “tricks” and I think they nailed it.

Let’s take a look at the 4 shades and the inspiration behind them … then get those wallets ready for tomorrow.

Slice of Life

Slice Of Life

Slice of Life is inspired by the show Dexter! Slice Of Life is a light blue crème polish that glows green in the dark! I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos. If you haven’t really dealt with glow in the dark polishes before, please rest assured that if the finished product (without top coat) looks like is a slightly grainy finish to them – this is normal! Add a nice top coat and boom – it’s all smooth like your typical creme. Nothing to worry about.

I’m pretty sure I’ve seen Dexter all the way through 3 times now.  Side note – my moms current cat is named Dexter and he’s a vicious little thing. Seriously – he’s caused some damage on my step dad and if he crawls on my moms lap, when it’s time for him to move, he will dig his claws in and my mom panics and tells my step dad to get him off. It’s hilarious cause it isn’t happening to me.

Pretty People Taste Better

Pretty People Taste Better

Pretty People Taste Better is inspired by The Walking Dead. This is a khaki holo with green chroma shift. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat for these photos. I’ve only seen each Walking Dead season once so far, and of all the shows – this one makes me jumpy on a fairly consistent basis.

I Wanna Do Bad Things With You

I Wanna Do Bad Things With You

I Wanna Do Bad Things With You is inspired by … you guessed it – True Blood! This is a red toned purple holo/chroma finish with magenta sparkle. I used 3 thin coats and a glossy top coat for these photos. I’ve seen True Blood all the way through twice now I think, and on the last go round I was in love with Arlene’s red hair and dyed my hair to match after. Freaking loved it.

Freak Show

Freak Show

Last, but certainly not least, we have Freak Show! This one is inspired by American Horror Story! Freak Show is a black base with linear holo and a subtle violet red flash infused with turquoise and red holo glitters. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat. Because of the glitters this does have a slightly textured finish, but a nice, thick top coat smooths it over. I used Girly Bits Glitter Glaze.

I’ll admit that the AHS Freak Show wasn’t my favorite of the seasons, but still worth watching. We just started up on the new season Hotel and I am so freaking excited to see how this one goes. I’m a chicken so I did cover my eyes a couple times in the premiere episode (like I’m a serious chicken with horror) but I still loved it.

Man oh man is this an awesome collection. I love all 4 shows these shades drew inspiration from, so I was excited about them. The colors are beautiful and I had no application issues. My top picks are Freak Show and I Wanna Do Bad Things With You – but all 4 are worth owning.

My parents have gotten to the point they were going to bring him back to the shelter they got him, but they are worried if no one takes him, he’ll be euthanized and they can’t do that – so they just deal with it. He’s not what they expected.

Interesting collex! Kinda cool that they’re not the traditional Halloween colors, too.

Thank you! My parents have always had those kind of names for our animals! Growing up we had a cat named Church (Pet Cemetery), a siberian dwarf hamster named Hannibal and an iguana named Mad Max. Only our dogs had “normal” names lol
