Exfolimate Face & Body Exfoliator Review

I have an exfoliation tool to share with you today, one that I will admit I thought might be a waste of money when I received it.

The Exfolimate Face & Body Exfoliator is designed in Australia.  It is a gentle tool to exfoliate the face and body and is designed for daily exfoliation and to allow your skin to clear naturally, without all the scrubs and peels. It helps transforms the surface of the skin to be smooth and clear.

Exfolimate

The Exfolimate package has 2 blade like devices.  The small one is for your face and the slightly larger one is for your body.  The blades are extremely dull, and in the 25 days of testing it, I never cut myself or had any uncomfortable feeling with it.  The triangular plastic pieces are easy to grip and small enough to be comfortable to hold, but large enough that you don’t feel like you might drop it.  The blades are stainless steel and to be replaced every 12 months.

You use the Exfolimate in a shaving pattern.  You use the side with micro grooves, which help to lift and remove unwanted dead skin cells that cause scaly skin and helps free ingrown hairs.

Exfolimate Blade

I used the side I was instructed to (with the micro grooves) and applied slight pressure at a 90 degree angle in an upward motion.  No cleansers or product was needed in conjunction with the Exfolimate, just water.

Overall, I love this on my body.  I experienced less ingrown hairs from normal shaving (it didn’t eliminate them entirely) but my skin felt silky smooth after each shower and throughout the day.  On my face, I liked it, but didn’t feel it got to all the areas I usually need exfoliation help in, like around my nose where I get the driest skin and most flakes.  It still felt nice, but just didn’t get everywhere I wanted.

Along with the 2 blades, the packaging included 2 red plastic drawstring cords so I could hang them in the shower, which I found handy.

This is definitely different than most beauty tools I have tried, and I didn’t find it to be too rough at all on my skin, plus it did eliminate the need to use body scrubs.  It worked on my face for the most part, but I did still need to use a gentle scrub in some harder to reach areas.

Price wise, I find it to be reasonable if you only have to replace it every year.  The price isn’t outrageous and for those with sensitive skin or allergies to certain products – this may be your ticket to smoother skin!

Price: $29.00

Hmm interesting! I’ve been just using body scrubs to exfoliate.

Interesting idea – very basic tool. Kinda simple, really – scrape off the stuff! I don’t know if I’d pay $30 for it, though.

It sounds cool. I am pro anything that would keep my skin soft and smooth without it being too harsh on my skin.

This is interesting, it’s like a dull razor for your face (without the hair remover). It’s definitely a change from the typical rotating or vibrating facial tools
