China Glaze Celebrate Courage Collection for Breast Cancer Awareness 2014 Swatches & Review

This October, China Glaze honors the strength of all women affected by breast cancer with the new Celebrate Courage collection. Inspired by the women who gracefully fight everyday and those that support them in their battle, the six-piece collection features three new matte crèmes and re-promotes of three classic bright pink shades.

Let’s start with the new matte shades

Carpe Diem

Carpe Diem is an extremely pale pink, almost white.  This does dry down to a matte finish, but I did these swatches late at night and added top coat without thinking.  I do recommend you apply this shade in thin coats to avoid self leveling issues.  They do dry matte, and rather quickly too – so thin coats are easiest.

Sheer Bliss

Sheer Bliss is my favorite of the new mattes.  This is a super pale nude shade with subtle pink shimmer throughout.  Much like Carpe Diem, I recommend thin coats (I used 3) to avoid self leveling issues.  I top coated (this is why I shouldn’t do super late swatch sessions!)  but it does dry down to a matte naturally.

Life Is Beautiful

Life Is Beautiful is a pink midway between a baby pink and a bubblegum pink.  It also has a matte finish, but I top coated.  I used 3 thin coats for these photos to avoid self leveling issues.  Of the 3 mattes, this one had the quickest dry time and I had the most self leveling issues with.

Rich & Famous is a medium bright pink creme.  This is a repromote shade and is gorgeous!  I used 3 thin coats for these photos.

Make an Entrance is a bright raspberry pink creme.  I used 3 thin coats for these photos and a glossy top coat.

Strawberry Fields

Strawberry Fields is one of my favorite China Glaze shades ever created and I almost forgot how perfect it was until I received it in this collection.  When I put it on, I was just.. wowed all over again.

Strawberry Fields is a strawberry pink creme base loaded with gold shimmer. I used 2 coats and a glossy top coat.

This is a pink lover’s dream for a collection with a nice range of pinks from super light shades to vibrant shades.  A beautiful collection for a beautiful cause.  The new matte cremes need a gentle touch for application, but Sheer Bliss especially is worth it.

I love Strawberry Fields and I need to haul it out more often. The rest of this collection… I wouldn’t kick it out of my stash.

I’m not one to go gaga over pink, but this collex is amazingly pretty. Strawberry Fields is gorgeous.

is strawberry fields a neon? It reminds me of “cream pink” by Sinful Colors.

It’s bright, but I wouldn’t classify it as a neon
